| The Ayas Valley extends from the summits of the Monte Rosa group (Castore, Polluce and Breithorn, which are all over 4000 metres) up to Verrès, the valley itself varying between 6 and 10 kms wide. Champoluc is internationally renowned for mountain climbing and is part of the skiing area known as Monte Rosa Ski complex, one of the largest in Europe.
